The History Within San Francisco

Do you know where you came from? Maybe you look like your great grandmother or you have traits like your great grandfather. How will you know if you don’t go back and research your history? Many people are taking a greater interest in discovering their family history than ever before. With all the technological advances we have today, it is easier than ever to learn about our ancestry and create a family history.

Reading your textbooks and study material is no different. If you don’t have a structured way of approaching your studying, you’ll always be changing your approach and end up having wasted much time trying to decide how to study.

Take time to reinforce skills they’ve struggled with. Summer is Comics studies a great time for reflection. Reflect on the past school year with your child and identify areas for improvement. Use the summer as an opportunity to build up those skills. Find a teacher or tutor in the area who can help you identify best ways to improve these areas over the summer.

Yet these efforts have always fallen far short of what their best people hoped to accomplish. The promise of the civil rights movement was met by a white privilege backlash that gave us the brutishness of the Nixon, Reagan and Bush years.

Learning about them have provided me with a greater sense of value and worth for myself and my possibilities. Their stories are our stories. Ones we can stand on, draw strength from and motivate ourselves to take more positive actions. We have a world crying out for what women naturally bring to the table. Our fears keep us from taking action.

My view for this piece is way too deep than this. The box for me can be any place. Church, Mosque, Parliament, Round Square, TV, YouTube or anything you can tell speech through. What indicates this piece is the power of media, the power of spoken words. They can change the map, the balance of power in this world. They can move people. They can move armies. Also they can spread peace, hope and better future.

There are two kinds of history, the documented and the undocumented. These two differs on the kind of approach from people. Documented histories are seen on books, libraries and other medium whereas the undocumented are those events that have no evidence like storytelling, legends and more.

Yes, history does repeat itself, because human choices, good and bad, have consequences. Find the heroes (who promote liberty), and the villains (who destroy freedom). Compare the consequences of choices by individuals from each era, then do an analysis based on the causes and effects of the events given. Don’t underestimate the imagination and intelligence of young adults to connect the dots. They love a challenge and a puzzle. This is great practice in problem-solving, and builds effective leaders. Hang on, here we go!
